Cart Health Board

tools.sessions.ca/carthealth/

Every real customer cart, both sides of the wall: what blocked a sale, what was just noise, and which store.

Why it exists

When a customer says checkout failed, nobody could see what actually happened in their browser and on our server at the same moment - so we guessed, or asked them to reproduce it.

What it does

A live board over the checkout ledger. The headline number is blocked checkouts against sessions (99.9%+ is normal). Every error code is labelled blocks-a-sale yes or no, so slow fetches and retries are visibly separated from lost sales. Click any row to see the full session trace. Companion ledgers: Cart Breakages and the Dutchie Ticket Register on helps.sessions.ca.

How to use it โ€” live steps

  1. Go to tools.sessions.ca/carthealth/ and enter your @sessions.ca email.
  2. Type the 6-digit code from the email. You stay signed in for 7 days.
  3. Read the headline first: sessions, blocked checkouts, success rate. That is the number that matters.
  4. Everything marked BLOCKS A SALE: NO is retry noise the customer never saw - do not escalate it.
  5. Sold out in cart is inventory truth, not breakage. Validation errors at checkout are the Dutchie add-to-cart race (ticket 686841).
  6. Click a trace id to see the whole session, browser and server, in order.

Worth knowing

  • The fleet-wide alert email that used to fire on error volume was retired Aug 31; alerts now count blocked checkouts only.
  • Direct machine access for automation uses a bearer token held in the vault, not a mailbox.
